1. Ombre Dreams: Nude to Purple Fade ☁️
This has to be one of the most popular ways to wear purple nails right now, and I totally get why! The soft transition from a sheer nude or pink base to a lovely lavender or violet tip is just so dreamy and flattering. It makes nails look elongated and elegant. This ombre effect serves as the perfect canvas for adding other details like glitter, lines, or gems.
- How I Achieve the Ombre Fade:
- Apply your sheer nude/pink base coat ☍ and let it dry completely.
- On a disposable surface or palette, paint a stripe of the nude polish right next to a stripe of your chosen purple polish ☍ , slightly overlapping them in the middle.
- Take a slightly damp makeup sponge ☍ and dab it directly onto the polish stripes a few times to blend the line.
- Quickly dab the sponge onto your nail, moving it slightly up and down to blend the colors from the cuticle (nude) towards the tip (purple). The first layer might look patchy – that’s okay!
- Let it dry for a few minutes, then repeat the sponge process (steps 2-4) until you achieve the desired opacity and smooth blend. Usually, 2-3 layers work well.
- Clean up the skin around your nails using a brush dipped in acetone.
- Once fully dry, apply your top coat!
